'Harpy' (Daughter) Appearance Standing at about 6'4", Idristan is on the short side for an Elezen; however, he makes up for it with piercing green eyes, a face composed of sharp lines and harsh angles, and a mouth that is almost always turned downwards into a frown or scowl. His skin is a lightly sun kissed tan and, despite the fact that he is not truly that old, his hair has already turned a shade of pure white. It also seems to be a point of vanity for him, for he keeps it flawlessly maintained.In fact, he seems to take pride in his entire appearance, for it is a rare sight indeed to catch him out in public looking anything other than his best. He favors dark suits and coats, though lately he has added in a few Far Eastern fashions to his wardrobe--though he still eschews bright colors. He also has a taste for jewelry, always wearing at least a pair of silver earrings and a signet ring inlaid with a rose motif. Personality At first glance, Idristan seems to embody every negative stereotype about Ishgardians, with an extra dash of cynicism thrown in for flavor. He is aloof and cold, with a sarcastic streak and a tendency towards dry, bitter humor that can occasionally edge into outright cruelty when directed at a person. Though he can be pleasant when the situation absolutely warrants, there’s often a sense that he’s holding something back that makes it hard to tell whether he’s actually being sincere or merely putting on an act. He is adept at dancing with words, saying everything and nothing at the same time.When one gets a chance to see behind the facade, however, one can find a man who is extremely empathetic, even kind. Though he tries to avoid talking about his past, it is clear that he is very familiar with suffering, and often can’t bear to walk away from someone in pain. In the past he has been accused of being too self-sacrificial, a charge that is not entirely without merit. Reformist: During the time since the Ishgardian Reforms were enacted, Idristan has made it very, very clear where he stands on the matter. Not only does he support them fully, he doesn't think that they go quite far enough. Those who are active in political circles, especially the more progressive or radical, have likely heard his name, or perhaps even witnessed him urging for more attention to be focused on Brume reconstruction.
Heretic: Though it is a part of his past that he has done his best to hide, up to and including changing his name, the fact of the matter is that Idristan is a heretic. Though his crimes are more than a decade old, it is not impossible that an older Inquisitor might remember, or for someone especially zealous to put the pieces together.
Voidsent Hunter: Idristan believes that his purpose and calling in life is to rid the world of voidsent--and fortunately, he's rather good at it. He will gladly help with any void-related problem, whether that be dealing with something as simple as a troublesome ahriman, to breaking curses and tracking down Mhachi artifacts. He also keeps a large library of information about the void that he is willing to share--provided he thinks your motives are good.
Chirurgeon: While studying at the Scholasticate, Idristan's talents for healing magic and medicine were recognized, and he started to undergo training to become one of Ishgard's healers. After he was forced to flee the country, he started to sell his skills to get by. While most of his gil comes from mercenary companies, he will not turn away an individual in need; indeed, among Limsa's poor and downtrodden stories circulate about a somber, white-haired healer mending bones and curing aches, all while refusing any sort of reward offered him.
